I was out this morning when my temperature gauge started climbing higher. It never hit the red but when i checked the level it was empty. The alternator belt was slipping so i suspect there is a water pump fault. However since topping it up there seems to be a huge leak when its running, it runs fine the water just seems to be pouring out somewhere behind the engine.

Can anyone give me any idea what could be leaking? I’ve checked the haynes manual but doesn’t show any breakdown of what cooling related components are on that side of the engine.

losing antifreeze always same amount every time you drive the van and shut it off after shutting it off the antifreeze goes into the reserve tank it is filled to the top and comes out the overflow so i have to put more in instead of the radiator sucking it back in the radiator replaced thermostat,water pump fixed a hose checked for heater core its appears to be good accordingly to my mechanic heat doesn’t always put out heat plz help

hi just got a 98 lesabre and it has a strong anti freeze smell coming fro under the hood. theres no leaks anywhere that i can find. even took the engine cover of.

I have a large water leak-running freely-at the thermostat end of the crossover pipe, which was diagnosed when it was a very tiny leak as the crossover pipe months ago. I used a bottle of  ‘Stop Leak’, as we were quite a ways from home: that has been temporarily successful. I also have an oil leak at the oil pan gasket. Looking for expert tips, repair issues, ‘costs’, etc.

when engine has been run to normal temperature on switching off vehicle leaks coolant does not leak when running or cold vehicle performs ok and does not over heat

Hi im from australia.my car is going great. however i noticed the coolent in the radiator has dropped its level a bit and hardly no coolent running into the overflow but its not overheating. whats the best thing to do.

leaks coolant, right side of engine passenger side, runs down & drips from front motor mount, cannot find where leak is coming from
