Is it possible to reset ignition lock on Dodge Stratus by owner or non-dealer auto repair?  Used copied key which worked on lock but not ignition.   Anti-theft device disabled original key which now starts engine but it turns off after a few seconds.

Key goes in and out ok but will not turn to start. I’ve seen where this model has a lot of ignition problems but this seems like a safety lock is not releasing. I can’t get it out of Park if the key won’t turn and I’ve wiggled the wheel and even rocked the car back and forth while trying to turn the key. Is the problem in the key cylinder or switch or is there saftey lock to check and where is it? Thanks Mike

I have a 2000 grand caravan. the gauges on the panel keep going in and out. the engine is a 4cylinder. the lights work the heat won’t work due to the gauges not working. the back window wiper or rear defrost will not work. need to know what can be check and need a local mechanic to change. I have check the fuses. no fuse blown. believe it’s the ignition cause I can turn on the vehicle, it starts but you can see that the gauges try to work once the key is in. need help!!
