My brakes make a horrible a screeching noise with light pressure on the brake. They’ve been inspected several times and I ‘m told my brakes are fine. I’m told the thickness of the brake pads is fine. They’ve blown off “dust” which didn’t improve anything. I’m told they can cut the rotor but you can only get one cut from a rotor. I can have new brakes installed but if I’m told my brakes are fine…why would I have new ones put on? I’m at a loss on how to remedy this situation. This is a new vehicle. Brake noise started at 8,000 miles. It’s a 2009 JEEP Grand Cherokee.

installed a water pump 3 weeks ago and about 4 days ago it started making noise so put in another one seen alot of meatle shavings where it was hiting how do i fix this problem

My car (2000 Mitsubishi Magna Sports 3.5L dual trans) is making a knocking sound only when the engine is warmed up on the right hand side and when i get to 110Km’s the front of the car and steering wheel start vibrating and shaking heavily only when my foot is on the acclelarator. Foot off it stops, foot on over 110kms it starts. Mechanics diagnoses so far: Brisbane Mechanic -its your suspension $900, Pedders – suspension is 100% its your drive shaft and power steering rack $1500 Car Drives Brisbane to Melbourne. Ultra Tune -your drive shaft and rack are fine its your engine mount -$200- 2 hours later -your engine mount is fine its your transmission and unsafe to drive-$2800. Transmission place- transmission is 100% nothing wrong with it. Drove the car to Adelaide and car is still running but still knocking and vibrating.

I tried to start my 08 dodge caliber this morning and it made a clicking noise, I thought it would be the battery so i tried to jump it and that didn’t work either so whats wrong with it, any help starter maybe?

I was told by my long-time mechanic that our supercharger was going out.  There is a noise when the engine is idling.  Decided to take it to a Buick dealership and was told it isn’t the supercharger it is the a/c compressor.  When we said the compressor had been replaced 9 months ago, they said they would check it again.  They kept it over the weekend and checked everything.  When they detach the a/c belt the noise goes away.  When they re-attach and run the a/c the noise comes back.  They removed the belt pulley that runs the supercharger and said the supercharger was fine.  Ever since I replaced the ORIGINAL  a/c compressor the a/c has been loud.  This is the second a/c compressor since the original.  The car has 92,000 miles on it.

My question is could the supercharger being blowing out the a/c compressor or could the a/c affect the supercharger?

i have a 1986 300zx automatic, first will not engage , only if i rev the engine real high it will then engage. when it starts to move i hear a clunking and grinding sound. once it is out of 1st gear it shifts just fine .

Im hearing a clicking a loud noise from top of engine under a plastic cover next to manifold, should i be worried?

Have a problem with tapping from the engine at high RPM’s. Seems ok while idleing, and getting to speed is ok, but if i get on the gas, there is a tapping in the motor. if i am cruiseing it is ok and no noise, but if i try to pass someone, tapping again. Can anyone give me some ideas what i should check for?  It is a 2000 Ford Crown Victoria Polcie interceptor, P71 motor 4.6 liter.
