CODE 54 - Fuel Pump Circuit
Fuel pump circuit low voltage
The ECM monitors the voltage to the fuel pump from the fuel pump relay. If the voltage is below specification code 54 will set.
Symptoms
- Engine may not start
Common Causes
- Failed fuel pump relay
- Failed ECM
Trouble Code 54 is not used by the turbo cars. If this code does appear, it is probably due to a loose connection or bad ground. If a computer is connected to the car's ALDL connector when the code appears, check the computer cable connections.
