Dodge Cummins 5.9l 24 valve throttle sticking?

When the truck is cold and the idle speeds up, it makes the truck accelorate. If I put the truck in neutral, it drops down to a normal idle speed. Since this has started happening, I can notice the transmission shift timing is off and some sputter when in reverse or mashing on the gas. Anyone know these symptoms?
