steering problem

i have a 97 pontiac bonneville. when i turn to the right it is fine but when i turn to the left it’s like i dont have power steering.

  1. The most common cause for this would be internal wear of the power steering rack assembly. This is of course ruling out the fluid level has already been checked.

    Other possible causes.
    1) Flat tire on one side
    2) weak power steering pump
    3) pinched or damaged power steering lines
    4) damaged ball joints or tie rod ends

    Suggestion:

    Jack the car up so both front wheels ore off the ground and see if it is still hard to steer.
