I am replacing the ignition switch on 1978 Dodge B300. I have disassembled down to the parking lock plate covering the switch. Is a puller required or is there some other method to reach the switch?

The ignition switch is located under the column, I belive you are working on the key lock cylinder.
There is a special tool that presses the parking lock plate down so you can remove the c-ring in order to remove the plate and the spring below it.
