I am looking at a 2002 Suburban with 169,000 miles. One owner, always garaged, not a mark on it. Can I reasonably expect to get to 200k without major repairs?
I’ve never owned a vehicle with so many miles and don’t know what to expect.

I would say it all depends on the maintenance history, what part of the country it came from (i.e.: Warm temp., Snowy, Costal) it all has a certain type of affect on a vehicle. Let’s see if the pro concurs.
I agree with TA77, the previous maintenance and care of the vehicle makes a huge difference. If the Suburban has been properly maintained there is no reason it couldn’t go 200,000 to 300,000 or more without major problems.
When buying a used car make sure you ask the seller if they can produce maintenance records. This can help assit you in making an educated decision.
I have seen chevy trucks with over 500,000 miles on it before but like TA77 stated, it all depends on the weather and maintenance history.
