    You do not have to have special tools for this, although We do use one here in our shop. You just need a lond stout wrench and big hammer to knock it loose. We have an attachment that hooks into our air hammer that works pretty good. But if you are just going to do the job once, you will have a tool just laying around.

    If you are having trouble holding the water pump still, you can take one of the bolts out and attach a chain to it and the other end to a bracket on the engine.
