my F-150 stalled while I was driving it. I could smell oil burning and there was smoke coming from the engine but my temp gage didn’t say it was hot. I sat for a about an hour and put oil in it. It started and there was a clicking sort of rattle when I pressed on the gas. I managed to get most of the way home before it died again. Now it wont start at all. What could be causing this?

If you ran the engine out of oil or coolant, it may be permanently damaged. Check your fluid levels first.
Now what does it do when you try to start it. Does it do nothing, one hard click, several clicks or cranks over but does not run?
