95 cadilac devill concour 4.6 northstar compatiable alternators

i bought an alternator for a heated windshield option because it was cheaper but i don’t have an heated windhield. it fits in place but still no charge?
i need to know the difference between the 2 or maybe this ones bad.
also wires that connect battery and alternator?
