When driving at approx 80-100KM for an extended period of time I get a vibration that feels like it comes through the steering. It starts like you are traveling on a rough road surface with the vibration very light. This increases to a violent shaking where the steering wheels feels you are going over road corrugations. It’s not just the steering its the dash as well. Feels like the whole car is shaking. This does not happen all the time and you can go for a week and it not happen. Last week I drove 200km and it happened 3 times. The only way to stop it is to slow down or stop completely. I have had 3 machanics look at it. I have had a wheel balance and rotation and has not made any difference. This did appear to start happening around 6 months ago when we had the coil packs replaced.

My first thoughts would be that you may have an intermittent sticking caliper that when it is sticking it causes the vibration from warped rotor/s. Any rotor with more than .003 run-out will cause a vibration and would increase if the caliper was sticking as it would crate more heat. You should have your rotors checked at least to rule them out.
Not sure if the shop criss-crossed rotated your tires or front to back but…
You can have both front tires moved to the back and test to see if the vibration moves to the back. If it does, you most likely have a busted belt in the tire. If not, you have ruled out the tires and wheels.
