2004 f-150 4.6ltr v-8

i dropped the idle control motor and broke the plastic screw that holds the adjustment. i made an attempt to repair it and i got the truck to start and idle but it will not accelerate. is there a time frame for the computer to reset or do i need to replace the part

You will need to replace the part you broke. The IAC should only control idle. Your TPS and or throttle cable/body should control acceleration. Check those first.
