2000,Chevy,Camaro z28 5.7

My transmission is slipping so I was changing the transmission shift solenoid (That didn’t do any good)but while changing the solenoid on the drivers side, a little rod popped out, what is that little rod and is that the reason my transmission is slipping or do I need a new or rebuild transmission?

  1. When a transmission starts slipping, the first thing to do would be to check the fluid level. If it is low, top it off and re-test. When checking the fluid level on the transmission the vehicle should be in park, engine off and on a flat surface.

If the fluid level was full yet the color of the fluid is burnt or dark looking apposed to the pretty pink, this is a sign of burnt clutch material and will require a rebuild.
