Replace back brake pads: How do you get the cylinder / piston to compress? A 6 inch “C” clamp will not work.

  1. If you are sure your Brake Caliper compression tool isn’t the problem with getting the caliper piston to compress then its time to move on to the next step. Loosen the caliper bleeder valve and try to compress it again. If it still won’t compress, REPLACE that Caliper. If it does compress after opening the bleeder, REPLACE that Caliper Hose.
