I have a 1999 Honda Accord. Yesterday, as I was running errands, the car would not start right away when turning the key. It would click, then after a few tries it would start. This morning, I can’t get it to turn over. A few weeks ago, as screw came loose from the gear shifter and the vinyl handle has been loose, so I’m wondering if this has something to do with it. Battery is fully charged and car has plenty of gas. Thanks!

If you were getting a hard click, this is an indication of a failing Starter.
If it was a bunch of clicks(click, click, click) that would indicate a bad/dead battery or loose corroded connections.
Sounds like you need to replace the starter assembly. You can test it first of you would like. Have someone hold the key in the “start” position and check for battery voltage at the “S” terminal on the starter solenoid. If you see battery voltage and the starter is not turning the engine over, replace the starter.
