VEHICLE FALLS OUT OF GEER ON SHARP TURNS AND ABRUPT STOPS – WILL NOT GO INTO GEER WHEN TEMP IS UNDER 60 DEGREES WITHOUT EXTENSIVE WARM UP – HAVE TO RACE ENGINE FEW TIMES TO GET TO POP BACK INTO GEER – MAJOR PROBLEM?? EXPENSIVE TO FIX OR IS IT JUST SOMESORT OF SENSOR PROBLEM?

  1. First thing to do would be to check the fluid level of the transmission. This should be done with the engine running. Use a white paper towel and take note of the fluid color.

    Fluid Level

    1. Low – top off and test
    2. Full
    a. Dark in color – internal mechanical damage
    b. Bright color – sensor/electrical issue

generally there is a code stored in the computer and can be pulled with a scan tool.
