1995 ford f150 4,9L 300CI

My Fuel injectors are not injecting fuel.  I have tested my fuel rail and have fuel.  I have spark.  When i spray carb cleaner in the break booster vacuum line i can get it to run fine.  I cant get the injectors to spit fuel.  This started after i replaced the valve cover gasket and intake plenum gasket.  Ran perfectly fine before and now this happened.  I broke a few vacuum lines but i replaced them so i don’t think those would have an effect on it not firing at all.  The cylinders are not getting any fuel at all but i have plenty of fuel pressure.  Any ideas???

  1. The injectors should have battery positive all the time and get a negative signal to fire from the ecm.

Check the ECM fuse and your ground and power connections since you just worked on it.

  2. Is there any specific ground or power connection? I can check the ecm fuse easy but is there any rhyme or reason for the ground and power? And would the vacuum lines have any affect on the injectors? My last question is what sensors tell the ecm what to do? Where does it gather its injector data from? Maybe i disconnected a plug or something that i forgot about. Ive looked all over but i cant find anything un plugged but its worth a shot.

  3. I suggested checking the connection simply because you had been working on it and sometimes connections get left loose and will cause problems. The crank and cam sensor send signals to the ecm and let it know at what time to fire the injectors. The MAF Sensor and O2 Sensor signal how much fuel. So you confirm that the fuel injectors are in fact firing. This is the tool I use. You just touch the probe to the side of the injector and have someone crank over the engine. You will know instantly if the injectors are firing and you do not have to take anything apart.
