1997 Ford Taurus v6 3.0 U is the descriptor in the VIN number for the engine.
Popped an EGR code on the computer. Runs rough, hangs when you switch from rev to drive and you actually have to rev it a little to get it started going. tries to shift at about 15 mph then hangs at 30-35 mph when shifting. 3rd gear and 4th gear shift fine. Car vibrates bad sometimes at idle and a lot when you step on the accelerator during first and second gear.
Replaced the EGR valve…continued doing the same thing
Replaced the DPFE sensor…continued doing the same thing
Replaced the EGR Solenoid…continued doing the same thing
Replaced hoses connecting to sensor. Still the same thing.
At one point it popped a misfire code after I replaced the sparkplugs and wires. The code has since cleared since I’ve replaced the spark plugs and wires 2 additional times due to a friend that is a mechanic kept saying to change them. He’s now saying it probably isn’t the EGR valve but the coil pack.
Help?
Most likely a coil pack issue. What was the misfire code?
