I am hooking up the headlamp flashers (wig-wags) on my vehicle. (Before anyone starts hyping out about the legality of the flashers, I will say that I have checked my state and local statutes and have found that headlight flashers are perfectly legal.) My question pertains to the wiring of the flashers. In the image I’ve included there is a red circle around the specific area of interest. The wire labeled “RED” is a 16 AWG with a light blue female quick disconnect on the end. Somewhere after the quick disconnect a 20 amp fuse is needed. The fuse then needs to be connected to the positive battery post. I’d like to know what I need between the battery and the quick disconnect. What type of connector should I have? Do I need a fuse holder? maybe an inline fuse? I don’t know. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
SFoley
An inline fuse will work well here. It needs to be at least 16 AWG or larger diameter(meaning smaller numbers ex. 14 AWG, 12 AWG, 10AWG, etc.) Attach one end tot he battery and the other to the red wire.
Here is one for less than $6.00
