Wheel Stud Replacement – the old way (may cause early wear and damage tot he hub bearings)
Wheel Stud Removal :
1) Support vehicle safely.
2) Removal wheel to gain access to wheel studs.
3) Using a large hammer (3 lb or larger works well), knock the old stud out.
Wheel Stud Installation :
1) Slide the new wheel stud into place.
2) Place a lug nut on the stud.
3) Using an impact wrench or long breaker bar, tighten the lug nut to pull in the wheel stud.

Wheel Stud Removal :
1) Support vehicle safely.
2) Removal wheel to gain access to wheel studs.
3) Using a Specialty tool, a tie rod removal tool, the old stud is easily pressed out without causing any damage. Follow image for more details…
Wheel Stud Installation :
1) Slide the new wheel stud into place.
2) Slide a few washers over the stud and add the lug nut.
3) Tighten the lug nut to pull it the rest of the way in. You may need to replace the lug nut if it stretches.
