Mode Door Motor Replacement 2011 Nissan Altima

Nissan Altima

I need to repair the blend or mode motor and door assembly. I can’t get defrost or floor vent to open. The air conditioning only blows at me. How do I reach the blend door assembly?

You will need to remove the instrument cluster from the dash panel(see video). Then you will need to remove the BCM that is located behind the instrument cluster.

  1. after removing the instrument panel, I still cant see over the wiring harness to assemble the mode door. mine was simply not assembled correctly. now I have the mode door motor off. the black plastic piece that fits. over the white part on the motor. and I have this other white piece that has to go into the linkage someplace I cant see.
I think I have to lift the dash board cover to get at it. is that even doable? or do you have a better view of the mode door assembly.

  2. The image above is shown with the heater and cooling unit assembly out of the vehicle for clarity. The manual recommends removing the entire assembly HVAC/steering column. If you think you can get at it easier by removing the dash cover, by all means make it easier on yourself.
