My front brakes will not release immediately after I go from park to drive. It sometimes takes up to 30 seconds to release. What could be the cause of this?
One possible cause may be a restriction in the caliper hoses. Pressing the brake pedal is required to move the shifter from park to drive. So the brake fluid may be having a hard time moving back. However I would think you would notice this each time you stop and not just when you move the shifter from park to drive.
Most often the car has been setting in the same spot for a while before you need to move the shifter from park to drive. This has me thining the brake calipers or pads are sticking and not being allowed to slide freely. A caliper slide or brake pad slide may be the issue.
No matter the case, removal of the front wheels and an inspection of the front brakes are in order.
