I am replacing the tie rod but have tried 6 different tie rods and none of them fit enough so that the nut will barely threads on and won’t tighten down enough to pull the little rubber boots down
I’ve tried Auto zone oreillys and Napa and all of their parts are slightly different but none fit right
The first thing that came to mind was that I thought you had a 2002 Honda Accord EX. But either way the parts should work. After looking up the parts and crossing the numbers I had a different thought. Maybe at some point there where some aftermarket parts used. This may cause the issue you are having.
Maybe the best thing would be to replace all the components at the same time so the all match up. They do offer a kit online. I looked it up and is less than $300 for the whole kit. 18 pc Front and Rear suspension kit.

I finally got the tie rods on put everything back together and when I test drove it there is a knocking noise coming from the driver’s side front wheel once I get to about 15 mph. I know that a CV joint can make the same type of noise but it wasn’t doing it before I replaced the tie rods and ball joints so I’m hoping it’s something that I forgot or a step I skipped that could cause this.
