where is the fuel filter located?

| This vehicle is equipped with a fuel filter built into fuel pump module and is not serviced separately. If fuel filter replacement is required then, replace entire fuel pump module. |
Fuel Pump Replacement
I looked up the labor time for replacing the fuel pump and found it to be 1.0 hours. So if you are certain you want to replace the fuel filter here is the procedure.
| 1. Remove air cleaner lid, disconnect inlet air temperature sensor and makeup air hose. 2. Remove rear seat cushion. 3. Remove plastic access cover located on floor pan. 4. Clean top of tank to remove loose dirt and debris. 5. Remove lefthand side module lock ring using lock ring tool No. 9340, or equivalent. Match mark fuel pump location on top of fuel tank. 6. Disconnect fuel pump electrical connector. 7. Pull module upward out of fuel tank, make sure that you do not spill fuel inside of vehicle. 8. Reverse procedure to install. Ensure to align position match marks. |
