Why would a signal light bulb melt to its socket?
How to fix?
Thank you
Normally this happens on vehicles that use the same bulb for turn signals and park light bulb. This will cause the light bulb to be on while driving creating heat. So Heat is the answer to your question. Either from the bulb or poor electrical connections. Replacing the bulb if you can remove it using a pair of needle nose pliers. If the socket is damaged it will also need to be replaced.
How to Replace Turn Signal Bulb
- Remove headlamp assembly to access bulb socket if required.
- Turn socket (1) a quarter turn counterclockwise and remove, Fig. 1.
- Pull bulb (2) straight from socket, Fig. 1.
- Reverse procedure for installation.
