put gas in throttle body will run, suddenly no headlights,no power to switch, all fuses is good,no power fuel pump relay, measure voltage fuel pump wires,5 volts, radio doesn’t illuminate just static, sure don’t have idea what it’s , everything worked, till I put transmission and transfer case back in the truck
replaced transmission, transfer case, charged battery, then suddenly no headlights, radio static doesn’t illuminate,no power to fuel pump or relay,
I would think the first place to look would be the battery connections. Make sure they are clean and secure. Then fully charge the battery before testing again. I have added a wiring diagrams below for reference. Check your Ground connections at both ends. This is an old vehicle so rust is your electrical systems worst enemy. As for the Fuel pump. It uses the ECM B fuse which is separate from the headlight fuse. So for both to have an issue at the same time I would look at the bigger connections such as the battery connections or cables.
okay,I did more research went bought electrical ignition switch, bottom steering column, I’ll put it on try it ,things getting no power other accessories some, researching said be likely ignition switch, but thanks for help
thanks, did more research things not getting power, other accessories some power went bought electrical ignition switch, bottom steering column, try ,just 20 dollars, autozone, put it on see things back normal
strange, found no problems wiring,3 fuses not getting power, decided jump power from one fuse to other ,fuel pump run, started truck, those fuses with no power suddenly had power truck running, strange
That is strange! keep us up to date on this one. Thanks
turned out bad oil pressure switch/fuel pump control, bad switch shut power off to fuel pump, sends signal to ecm
Wow, what an ordeal you had to go through to find that one. Thanks for sharing the fix!
