Driver’s side door lock will not work with key

Honda Accord

Driver’s side door lock will not work with key (it will lock electrically from inside and passenger side) the rod from the back of the lock cylinder to the latch strikes the side of the cylinder when turned clock wise (from out side) which should unlock the door. It is a 1996 Honda Accord LX Coupe.

If you disconnect the rod does the key and lock cylinder move freely? If not, replace the lock cylinder. You may also want to try spraying some WD-40 in the key hole and see if it doesn’t loosen things up. If the lock cylinder does move freely, address the other components that are attached to the rod or relocate the rods.
