I have an 08 Nissan Xterra v6 4.0. It started misfiring on the way to work, got a p0301 code, so I changed cylinder 1 plug and coil that fixed it for about a week now it’s misfiring with just the common p0300 random engine misfire.
For my time and money I would recheck the area the work was completed first. Just to insure it isn’t something that just came loose, etc. Do the wiggle test on anything you may have touched. Clear codes and test drive. You may need to drive it for a while in the hopes that a more specific code occurs.

When a misfire occurs, engine speed will fluctuate. If the engine speed fluctuates enough to cause the crank-shaft position sensor signal to vary. ECM can determine that a misfire is occurring.
