Wiper blade came loose causing arms to tangle with other, stalled motor, fuse blew. Motor measured shorted, linkage good, wiper relay good. Trying to check switch. Measuring 55k ohms b/w pink wire in motor harness switch & ground when switch set on “hi”. Should have continuity, right? Could this incident have damaged the switch. What is best way to test switch?
Turn the switch on with the New wiper motor plugged in to test switch, since you already measured the motor as shorted and had to replace it anyway. This would be the best way to test the switch. One of the most common issues with wiper operation is related to the multi-function switch needing to be replaced. Wouldn’t think the switch would have been damaged by this incident though. I’ll add a wiring diagram for the wiper motor below for reference in case you need to trace some wiring.
