I have a 2007 Volvo s40 that wont start in extreme heat! When its cool it runs fine, and I had to let it cool down for close to two hours one day! Anyone know what could be causing this?

I could see a couple possibilities off hand. One could be the engine temp sensor is out of range and is causing the wrong amount of fuel to be delivered.
The other thought would be the IAC is sticking. A good way to test this would be the next time it doesn’t want to start, hold your foot to the floor while cranking over the engine. If it starts then you may just need to have the IAC cleaned/replaced.
