  1. Many reasons for a transmission line to bust, run over something, get in a wreck, wrench slip when working on it, old age and weather exposure, clog in system. The transmission lines are used for cooling purposes. The transmission fluid is under pressure coming from the transmission to the radiator and the fluid is cooled in the radiator and then flows back to the transmission in the return line. If either of these lines leak or bust they should be replaced asap.

If there is a clog or restriction in the system it will need to be repaired first and then replace the busted hose. Disconnect from radiator and from the transmission and install the new line. Sometimes a special tool is needed if equipped with “Quick Disconnects”.
