I HAVE PUT IN A REBUILT 4.6l MOTOR A YEAR AND A HALF AGO. I THEN PUT IN A REBUILT TRANSMISSION. I SHOULD HAVE A BRAND NEW CAR RIGHT? WELL THE BATTERY ICON STAYS MOSTLY ON AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON THIS TIME 6 DAYS SINCE LAST CYLINDER # 4 CHANGED. It is always cylinder #4. I have done a compression check, I just don’t know what to do. The spark plug had some wet grit on it but showed no signs of contact. So why isn’t it firing?
new car, Not even close. still have all 2002 sensors, accessories, electronics, etc. The battery light indicates the alternator isn’t able to charge the battery properly. This can be from a bad alternator, battery issue or an aftermarket stereo that uses too much juice.
Possible the fuel injector on #4 cylinder is sticking, I would try swapping it with a different cylinder and see if the problem follows the injector. If it does then all you need to do is replace the injector. Can be done with spark plug and coil as well.
