Locate a fuse or power supply that only has power with the ignition key on. Then attach your power wire from it to the toggle switch or eliminate the toggle switch altogether. The the fan will only operate when the key is on. Make sure to install and inline fuse. The original cooling fans used a 60 amp fuse located in the engine compartment fuse block which provided power to the low speed relay and the high speed relay. Those relays would then provide power to the fan/s.
