What can cause a ford escape 2005 not to start right away but after a few crank by keeping the switch on it will than start. This occurs only when the car has not been in service or running for some hours. When driving, stopping and restarting the car with no prolong waiting period between start and stop, it does not manifest the above mention symptoms.
The sparkplugs, air-filter, oil-filter and fuel-filter were already change/renewed without any success.

– What can be the root-cause that may lead to this type of malfunction (prolog cranking before the engine stat?).
– What can be done to correct this problem?
Sounds like your fuel pressure is bleeding off. You would need to install a fuel pressure gauge and leave it set and see if the fuel pressure drops. Or the next time you leave it set over night, cycle the key to “ON” (NOT START)and “OFF” 5 times and then staqrt it. If it starts right up then that is your problem. Your fuel pressure is bleeding off.
