How to remove a stuck oil filter
I have run across this situation on may occasions. If the wrench doesn’t do it the first thing I try is the hammer and chisel method. Tap the oil filter at the base where it threads on and see if it will move. Still stuck? I drive a screw driver through the side of the filter. Many times this method just ends up making a worse mess and rips the filter in half. Then its back tot he hammer and chisel method.
