The gear housing gasket on the transaxle is leaking. Can I replace that gasket without removing the transaxle from the car, or would the gear shafts sag?
Yes you can remove this cover if you are referring to “B” in the transaxle identification diagram shown below. The shafts/gears underneath are held in place with locking nuts. If you are talking about splitting the case then I wouldn’t recommend it.
