Hi. I’ve bought a KIA Proceed GT in July this year. The car was manufactured in 2021, though it is a pre-facelift version. Roughly 2 months ago I run over a pothole when turning left. Nothing bad happened to the tire, nor did the weel get damaged. However, ever since the steering wheel feels lighter on the right compared to left turn. On the straights, the car pulls to the right. It is said to be normal for Kia Proceeds, though.
Geomtery is ok, and and so is the wheel alignment. Tire pressure is fine too.
I took my Kia to the electromechanic to have him check power steering – nothing wrong with it either.
A week ago, a steering column bearing was replaced by the authorised Kia service centre. Unfortunately, that didn’t solve the problem. The diagnostic station didn’t see anything worrying in relation to the suspension.
What may cause this annoying issue?
Have no idea. All these others have not been able to find an issue and they have had the ability to actually look at it. They have also had the opportunity to drive it.
Bout the only thing I could think would be to drive a new one and then drive this one and see if they are or are not the same. If they are not the same, something is wrong. In my opinion the car should not pull to the right. I would continue to take it back to the dealership until you are satisfied with the repairs.
