2000 Pontiac Grand Prix – Noise When Turning

I have a 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix that makes noise when turning to the right or left. Its not a roaring noise like a wheel bearing , but more like a rubbing noise. It only makes the noise when I turn the wheel left or right. What could this be?

Most likely the problem has to do with the front strut mounts. Since you are taking the strut assembly completely out of the car to get to the strut mount you might as well replace the strut at the same time. Same labor is involved. Here is how its done:
